 MUSHROOM PEPPER FRY


Homestyle mushroom pepper fry which is a typical south Indian style recipe. The dry roasted black pepper and fennel seeds powder added at last enhances the taste of the whole dish which goes well as side dish with any rice item.

Cooking Time : 25 mins.

INGREDIENTS:

For Dry Roasting:

  • Black pepper : 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Fennel Seeds : 1 tbsp

Other Ingredients: 
  • Button Mushroom : 1 packet (cleaned and chopped)
  • Coconut oil : 1 tbsp
  • Small Onion : 10-15 nos. (finely chopped)
  • Curry Leaves : Half handful
  • Green chillies : 2 nos. small / acc. to spice level. (chopped)
  • Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder : a pinch / 1/2 tsp
  • Salt : as per taste
  • Water : to the level of sauteed mushroom
  • Coconut : 1/4 cup (grated)
Step by step Instruction:

1. Heat a kadai dry roast black pepper and fennel till aromatic do not burn.



2. Add it to a mixer jar and grind to a coarse powder and prepare other ingredients also.



3. Heat coconut oil in a kadai and add chopped small onion, green chillies and curry leaves saute well.


4. Add ginger and garlic paste saute till raw smell goes. Then add turmeric powder.





5. Now add the mushrooms and salt saute till the water from mushroom is dry.



6. Now add water to the level of mushroom and cook.

7. After the mushroom is cooked and the water added dries out add the dry roasted powder.



8. Finally add the grated coconut toss it and switch off the flame.


9. Mushroom pepper fry is ready to be served.
